Kris's World "Big Fight"

I hope everyone is having a great Holiday week.

DC Comics announced the reprinting and reformatting of the Greatest fight ever “Superman Vs Muhammad Ali” I’m very excited about this. This was the first job I worked on when I started working at Continuity. I got to do the zip-a-tone work. DC is doing two formats, one is a deluxe hardcover featuring an expanded sketch section and additional content (that I am digging through the vault for ) layouts and sketches. Neal will also be doing a new cover for this. As soon as we figure out the new cover I will show it on Kris's World. The second edition is in its original big trim size with the original cover. Continuity will be overseeing the re-color of this magnificent work.

Astonishing Xmen # 5 is also now on sale through Itunes. This is one of Continuity’s favorite episodes. The acting in the animation is really great.

Batman “Odyssey" We handed in another 5 pages of pencils, which brings our page count to 125 pages and one more issue to go.

Please visit our Store. Jason has a great sale going on which ends on January 4th. I just don’t want you to miss it.

I see some Time Jumping in my future….. Happy New Year.

This week Kris's World was a BLAST!

I don’t know where to begin.

I have had the honor to work with Scott Kurtz this week. It has been so much fun to step into the world of cartooning versus the world I usually live in -- Superheroes. We have done pencils and inks and shot 4 different videos as Neal pencils and inks his 10 dailies that he has worked on with Scott Kurtz. You can see the videos on our site below. We have one more week to go with PVP and we now have to save Santa Claus! I could never let my dad really kill Santa Claus…..Could I ?

Batman “Odessey”

Once again, very exciting. We are now working with Scott Williams. He is inking pages from Book #4. I can’t wait to see them. I think we are getting some in next week Maybe I can get a panel or two posted up for you to see. In the meantime, as we wait, I have posted some of Neal’s own inking up to check out. I love Neal on Neal. We handed in another 5 pages this week to Book #5 bringing us to a page total of 117 pencil pages handed in to DC Comics. Pages 19 and 20 that we handed in was a beautiful double-page spread.

More DC Comics news.

First Wave. We handed in a cover this week that has The Spirit, Doc Savage, and Batman. Very Dynamic. Moose Baumann is handling the color chores and he said it was far from a chore to color THIS cover. He’s handing in color roughs on Monday. I will keep you posted on that. You can see it on our News page in Neal’s Notes.

Our Store

Jason just zipped by and said we have a lot of package deals for 40% off and he’s putting up tons of original art. Check out our Store, pick pieces for your Xmas list or for that special someone.

Continuity Studios is open all next week so check in. I know more exciting news is coming from DC early next week that we will be talking about. As a bonus we will be showing the behind the scenes of that Big, Big, BIG Project.

Happy Holidays

Kris and Kort's World Week 4

What's up g's

This week, starting Monday, the 14th, on www.pvponline.com, you will find artwork by Neal Adams and Scott Kurtz. Why, you might ask? Well, it all started four years ago with a promise he made to his then sixteen-year-old granddaughter. I'll let Kortney tell the story.

So, I was 16 and I had just started really getting into Player Vs. Player, by Scott Kurtz. This was kind of an anomaly because I was never really that intrigued by comics, ironic, I know. While Scott was printing full-length comics of his strips, he had Frank Cho design one of his covers. This is when I came up with the idea that my grandfather would design one, as well, for free. In my mind it was an honor that Scott would allow him to do a cover, because at that point my grandpa was my grandpa and not one of the most revolutionary artists in comic history. So one day I sauntered into the conference room, and banged my chair against his desk while he drew, like I usually do, and asked if he would do the cover for me. I made sure to layer on how happy this would make me, and gave my cutest granddaughter face. Neal, not knowing who Kurtz was, brushed it off and said sure, and I never brought it up again. For the next few years my uncle, Jason Adams, would always buy me something from Scott’s table. My name is spelled strangely, and after a few years he eventually asked who is this girl? Then, this year, when we all traveled down to the Baltimore Comic-con, for the Harvey Awards, I met him. My grandfather was receiving a humanitarian award for his work on the Dina Babbitt Motion Comic, and it just so happened Kurtz was the MC for the night. After the show, like the fan girl I am, I shakily told him that I was a huge fan. He eventually figured out I was that Kortney-girl he was always signing stuff for, and in turn I told him the story of my grandfather agreeing to draw a cover for him. Kurtz decided to mess with Neal by asking,” How could you break your granddaughters heart like that?” Sure enough, my grandfather told him to give my mom, Kris, his information, and a month later I was finding PVP reference for him. Now my childhood dream has been fulfilled, and my grandpa is drawing evil cats in Christmas trees. This will definitely be the best Christmas gift yet.

Astonishing X-Men 4 is out!! Another exciting episode is out on iTunes, so be sure to check it out. The greatest motion comic, EVER!!!! We also handed in issue 6, the final episode, and the pictures and tracks look and sound great. Probably the best episode to date.

In Batman news, we handed in another 5 pages this week for a grand total of, 115 pages. Woot Woot! Also, Scott Williams started inking. I’ll be showing some of the coolest pages from the project next week. So stay tuned.

Signing out,

Kris and Kort

Week Three of Kris's World

Week three of Kris’s world

This week was a very big week for Neal Adams and Comics.

We handed in another 10 pages of “Batman Odyssey” this week. Yay !! We’ve asked DC to start Scott Williams on some of the inking. Neal’s dug in and started inking pages, and we’re pushing to get a summer release for the project. Neal’s also adding new designs to old characters and bringing back all the characters that you love, that Neal’s done. Check out “Neal’s Notes on the “News” page of our site.

We also signed a new agreement this week with DC to re-release “Superman Vs Muhammad Ali”. I’m sure DC will be following with a big announcement on how the Giant Battle of the Century will be re-formatted.

Marvel’s put out the “Behind The Scenes” of “Astonishing X-men” with Neal and John Cassaday. An inside look as to how the two worked together, and solved turning a comic book into animation. Please find the movie below. Also, on that note, this coming week-Weds, the 4th issue of the Motion Comic comes out and this one’s my favorite out of all of them. It’s very dramatic. I can’t wait till it’s out to talk more about it. So please look for it on Itunes this coming Wednesday, December 9th. Just type in “Astonishing X-men” into Itunes.

I also want to remind anyone who might have good copies of Ben Casey dailies, or Sunday,’s to please get in touch with me at Continuity. My number is 212-869-4170. I am just looking for copies to fill in were I may not have a good one. As you can see I have days where the strip doesn’t look good at all.. Some people, like Walt Simonson and Lou Manna, have already been nice enough to send in copies that they had. Thank you both.

And last, but not least, we have a very big surprise next week because Neal may be doing Ben Casey again. That’s right, you heard it from me first. I promise a brand new Ben Casey in a strip.

Till next week.

PS Check out the new art we have for sale in the “store” site.
